1993 Miss World Lisa Hanna

Lisa Hanna was crowned with title of Miss World 1993. It was the 43rd Miss World beauty pageant held at the Sun City Entertainment Centre in Sun City, South Africa on 27th November, 1993.

Lisa Hanna was the third woman who became the Miss World from her country Jamaica. From all over the World, there were 81 competitors in Miss World beauty pageant 1993. In Sun City, there was the second consecutive staging of pageant.

Later, Hanna worked as broadcaster but now she is a politician. Hanna got her groove back by acting in “How Stella”. Later she tried her luck in broadcasting and hosting a Jamaican talk show “Our Voices” as a guest presenter on Extra in the United States. After a year, she went back to her country and there she had worked as communications consultant for Hotel Hilton in New Kingston.

In the year of 2007, Hanna contested in general election as a member of the People’s National Party and won the seat for St. Ann South East. For constituency, she was positioned as a Member of Parliament and became the opposition’s spokesperson for Information, Youth and Culture.
